The Climate Projects, or recently renamed as “emissions reduction projects in national territory), consist of an annual call sponsored by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD) and regulated by the Spanish Office of Climate Change (OECC). ), through which projects to reduce GHG emissions are incentivized in sectors such as industrial, Residential, Commercial and Institutional (RCI), agriculture, the waste sector or transportation, always in Spanish territory and in the diffuse sector (es that is, in sectors and organizations not subject to the European regulation of the EU-ETS market, also called the Emissions Trading Regime, in Spanish).

These types of projects are susceptible to receiving an economic consideration for 4 years in exchange for the reduction and certification of this reduction of GHG emissions (thus contributing to reducing the national inventory of GHG emissions), managed by the Carbon Fund for an Economy Sustainable (FES-CO2). Projects such as the replacement of fossil fuels with biomass or residual heat, the biomethanization of organic waste, the active degasification of landfills or investment in sustainable transportation (among others).

ECOTERRAE carries out comprehensive management of the call, from the presentation of projects to the achievement of the incentive by the project promoter, with a satisfactory verification fee of 100%. We are supported by the management of more than 200 climate projects throughout the national territory, which have reduced more than 3,000,000 tons of CO2 equivalent, receiving an incentive of more than €30,000,000, which makes us a benchmark company in the carbon markets in Spain.
