Sustainability certificates
Through this system, we ensure that quality standards are respectful of the environment, health and well-being of people.
In the department of Sustainable Indexes and Certifications, ECOTERRAE has a wide range of possibilities whose objective is twofold: on the one hand, to measure the current state of the organization, product or service analyzed, to subsequently develop an action plan that reduces its environmental impact (climate, water, etc.). ), and on the other hand, certify or adhere said organization to a specific platform or registry, from a registry of carbon footprint national or regional, to an international initiative to which you wish to belong.
The specific products in this line are
Carbon footprint
We calculate GHG emissions inventories and carbon footprint as the main index of climate impact, either for organizations (under the internationally recognized standards GHG Protocol and ISO 14064) or for products or services (GHG Protocol Product Standard or ISO 14067). In the latter case, the approach used is that of life cycle analysis, for which we reference the study to the ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, and we have specialized software and a private database that give us access to thousands of references to provide the study with full integrity.
Water footprint
We have extensive experience in technical advice for the reduction strategy and Water Footprint Calculation (Water Footprint Network standard) and the water footprint (ISO 14046) of organizations, processes, products and services in key sectors in the midst of the water crisis, such as agro-industry, water cycle treatment and mining. We are also members of the WFN network, a platform for collaboration between companies, organizations and individuals to solve the global water crisis by advancing the fair and intelligent use of water, as well as EsAgua, a network of entities committed to reducing their water footprint with the aim of providing information on the sustainable use of fresh water and the use of sustainability indicators such as Water Footprint and Water Footprint.
Ecolabeling
Ecolabels are useful to demonstrate the sustainability of products under some impact category and thus encourage more responsible consumption by buyers and users. There are several types, but they are basically classified into type I (regulated under ISO 14024, voluntary environmental qualification systems, regulated by a third party), type II (ISO 14021, which are studies and statements by the user of the label, with or without verification) and III (ISO 14025, also called Environmental Product Declarations since they are verified by an accredited third party and must be based on a Product Category Rule to enable comparability). ECOTERRAE accompanies the whole process of diagnosis and implementation of the most convenient option in each case.
Sustainable events
There are several voluntary standards, sponsored by different verification organizations or by ISO itself (with ISO 20121), whose function is to analyze and improve the sustainability of events throughout all their stages: design, planning, realization, implementation, review and subsequent activities.
International Sustainability & Carbon Certification
ISCC is a globally applicable sustainability certification system covering all sustainable feedstocks, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biogenic waste and residues, circular materials and renewable energies such as biomethane. With more than 8,000 certificates currently valid in over 120 countries, ISCC is among the largest certification systems in the world. ECOTERRAE advises on the certification under ISCC of renewable biomethane products, as it is the main standard approved by the European Union to homologate the guarantees of renewable origin of the future European biomethane market.
Ecovadis
This is a corporate sustainability rating that covers a wide range of non-financial management systems including environmental impacts, labor practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Each company must be assessed on the material aspects corresponding to the company's size, location and sector. ECOTERRAE advises on this assessment and adherence to the platform.
Lean&Green
It is the largest European collaborative platform specifically aimed at reducing emissions associated with the supply chain and logistics. Its objective is to help companies in all sectors to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions from logistics activities in order to achieve the goals defined at the Climate Summit in Paris (COP21) of carbon neutral emissions by 2050. It currently has a presence in 14 countries and more than 600 member companies throughout Europe, being a leading European community in sustainable logistics, led in Spain by AECOC and being ECOTERRAE specialized consultancy in advising companies wishing to join the initiative.
Carbon Disclosure Project
We advise on the CDP initiative, a non-profit organization that manages a global climate performance disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions. Its goal is for organizations to measure, manage, disclose and ultimately reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to gather the resulting data and make it available to the marketplace.
Science Based Targets initiative
The SBT initiative stems from a collaboration between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the World Wildlife Fund. Since 2015, more than 1,000 companies have joined the initiative to set a science-based climate target through a series of steps that ECOTERRAE can help you with.
Circular economy
We advise on various private certifications on the application of the circular economy concept on organizations and products (zero waste, zero plastic, etc.).
After 11 years developing this line, hundreds of works have been carried out in this field, some of which are listed below
