Sustainability in the logistics sector

According to data from the 2021 National GHG Emissions Inventory, 29.1% of national emissions come from transportation (26.9% from road transport). With this data, it is essential to work on defining strategies to combat climate change in the transportation and logistics sector.

In this line, from Ecoterrae We have been working with different clients in the development of innovative, “ad-hoc” projects with a positive impact on the supply chain to achieve European and international commitments among all; marked in the European Green Deal or the recent Law 7/2021 on climate change and energy transition.

We have worked with the food supplier company Bakkavor, in the development of a verified methodology that allows incorporating climate criteria into its internal dashboard for decision making. In the same way, and reinforcing the high commitment that the company Eccofreight has in this common fight, since 2018 we have carried out its GHG emissions inventory as well as supporting the tool Ecologistics360 that allows us to know the most sustainable logistics transport routes.

Large companies like Transfesa Logistics They also trust Ecoterrae for the definition of a comprehensive plan for calculating, reducing and compensating the organization's emissions, with ambitious objectives such as net zero.

We also highlight in this area, the close collaboration of Ecoterrae with AECOC and the Lean & Green Seal, whose objective is to achieve at least 20% emissions reduction in 5 years in the logistics and storage of companies. A seal that more than 60 companies trust as a reference in the climate fight of the logistics sector, and for which clients such as Alimerka either Ebro foods They already trust us.
